Mom Guilt

Everything you do as a second time mother feels wrong. As a mother of one you were able to achieve the maximum, to be the “perfect” parent, whatever that means. But why do you feel guilty? This thing is more commonly referred to as “MOM GUILT”. Even the simplest things become so complicated. No more goals. No more expectations. The only thing that matters is how to survive a whole day.

It seems hard, overwhelming, exhausting. But that doesn’t mean you’re not a good mother. You might not be able to provide as much time as you did before, but that’s okay because you are one person and you have to split into two to provide and take care of both of your children.

It’s okay to complain. It’s okay to get upset. We’re not built from rocks. We have feelings, we have thoughts. The mom guilt will never go away, but you have to think that you do your best. Even when you can’t really see the positive side of things. Even when the pile of clothes have taken over the floor. Even when the dirty dishes stay in the sink for way too long. Even when your children are restless and upset and you can’t seem to be able to handle them. It’s okay to complain.

These hard moments will remain bittersweet memories. Your kids will grow sooner than you think and what seems difficult now, will be memories you want to go back and relive.

Love, Mamastina
